Classic Cameras

I have been into photography for almost 30 years. Given this I have had my hands on quite a bit of equipment. What I am hoping to do with this page is feature one of my classic cameras here and showcase a few shots from it. I would like to do one a month but who knows what I will get done. Hey it’s my blog so I can set the rules…. The first camera I will feature is my very first camera. It is an Olympus OM2n and I purchased in back in 1981ish.  From there I will go through all that I have. It is an ever changing list so we should get some good mileage out of this.

My idea of a classic camera is probably different than many so I will explain it here. I know many web sites go with cameras built before 1970 or 1980 or some other date. Me, I think just about anything that takes film anymore can be considered classic since digital is kicking films ass now. But I don’t think all film cameras are classics yet and some never will be. Also to really wrinkle some feathers I do believe there are a few digital cameras that are now getting classic. I will add them as well. An example would be My Canon EOS 3 will end up here. Some will shutter that I include an auto focus highly sophisticated camera on a classic page. Hey, it may not be classic by age but it is one of the best film cameras I believe ever to be made. Just happened to be one of the last as well. You will never see any shots of my Canon Elan 7 here so that would be the difference to me. Totally my call as to if a camera makes it or not but I gladly look forward to comments either agreeing or disagreeing with me :).

Clicking on the picture will show a larger view of the camera. Clicking the name will go to the specific page for the camera.
