Testing new Panasonic 42.5/f1.7 lens…

With the micro 4/3 crop of 2x this becomes an 85mm equivalent for full frame. I need to practice with this in the studio with controlled lighting. this was wide open at 1.7 and 1/15th a second. I also need to update the firmware on the GX8 to get the in body stabilization working properly. But the lens has OIS so this is pretty sharp for 1/15th with my shaky hands. Thanks again to Kendra for being my test model. As usual she looks great :)…

Cheery blossom time again

I did not make it to the mall this year but luckily Gunpowder Golf Course has 4 cherry trees next to the putting green. I’ll post a few more photos shortly.. there is also a lone tree in the middle of the field where they have the short course setup. It is also in full bloom right now but I am not 100% sure what type of tree it is. It also looks great out there by itself though.

These trees are just a few feet off the putting green. They really look good when in bloom...

A few shots from NY City…

I went to the NY last weekend and am finally getting to look at the images in Lightroom. I need to learn more about architectural photography before my next trip. I am not hating these but am not happy either. The biggest thing is the perspective you get of the buildings from pointing up at them. Lightroom tries to correct this but as you can see it did not do so well on the WTC building. The Flatiron building is probably my favorite building in NY and I am happy with this shot but for the sky. I may drop a nice puffy cloud sky into this image. I need to redo the WTC image after I learn the lens correction features of Lightroom. I honestly never have needed them much before this… This flower is one of many wedged into the names of the people lost on 9/11. It was difficult to walk around this area.
